Hello friends. How's your September going so far? I'm writing today from a kitchen table with dogs of various sizes snoozing below. In a few days, I'm
heading to California for a wedding and then visiting a dear friend in Washington for a mini-vacation—which is long overdue. In terms of work, it has been a wildly busy month so far. The good kind of busy. In
moments when I feel overwhelmed, I'm shifting my attitude from, "I can't possibly get everything done!"...to..."I'm so excited to get everything done, and I can, and I will." Here's a peek at what I've been working on lately. Writing projects, collaborations, interesting clients, and more. Plus what I've been reading lately—and a very big
announcement. - Recently, I wrote an essay about why I moved to Hawaii several years ago—and what has unfolded in my life since then. If you missed it, here it is.
- You dream about writing a book? Once a year, I offer The Tiny Book Course. The 2022 session is happening now. We have around 170 beautiful people enrolled. Most of these folks are first-time authors who have never written a book before. Enrollment for 2022 is closed. But if you'd like to do this course
next year—in 2023—join the waitlist.
- A few weeks ago, I finished working on a very large project: helping a client develop two audiobooks for Audible. I can't reveal details—yet—but I'll keep you posted. I love how these
audiobooks turned out and can't wait for you to hear them.
- My friend & client Robert Hartwell is leading a free presentation on September 15. It's called Tell Your Story. It's about how to tell powerful
stories that inspire audiences to take action. Robert hired me to help him map out this presentation. He's a brilliant teacher and it's going to be phenomenal. At the beginning of the presentation, he shares a story that will leave you in tears. You just need to hear it. Sign up for this presentation. It will touch your
heart deeply.
- Hello Seven is one of my favorite clients. I love doing copywriting projects for them—helping them create newsletters, articles, workbooks, presentations, and other materials. They're doing The Make Money Moves Challenge from September 19-23 and it is electrifying! If you're self-employed and want to make more money, do this challenge. It will light a fire under your behind and get you moving.
- Dr. Sasha Heinz is a client from long ago who recently hired me again for a new project. She's a developmental psychologist—trained at Columbia and Harvard—who is wonderfully smart and hilarious. If you're interested in topics like: mental fitness, interrupting old thought patterns, and closing the gap between knowing what you need to do (and actually doing it), check out Sasha's work. I recommend this event which is a great introduction to her approach.
- Do you want more visibility for your work? But something holds you back from playing bigger—imposter syndrome, fear of rejection, or worrying that your message will be interpreted
in the wrong way? My friend & client Danielle Cohen offers a beautiful program called Visibility Medicine. I recommend this program for anyone who wants to create greater visibility for their business, mission, or cause.
- Is
it possible to run a successful business and find clients and customers...without being on social media? Yes. The Marketing Without Social Media Course is back, completely revamped for 2022, and launching soon. Join the waitlist if you'd like more info. I wrote and recorded this course. I hope it inspires you to think about marketing differently, take a break from social media, and generate more revenue but without all the scrolling, screen-fatigue, and exhaustion.
- Very big announcement! My business partner, Lindsey Smith, and
I...are...drumroll ...opening a bookstore! It's a brick-and-mortar bookstore with hardwood floors and such a cheery atmosphere. Located in Pennsylvania in Lindsey's hometown. We can't wait to open the doors and welcome everyone to come visit. We're planning a Grand Opening Celebration and I'll be flying into town for the occasion. I will email you more details as things get confirmed. Eee!
That's my update. I hope you are well. Please take good care of yourself. Do things that make you feel powerful. Whatever you are focusing on this month, I'm wishing you the greatest success. Until soon. -Alex |
