Hello, friends!
My colleague Rachel Rodgers (perhaps you’ve read her Wall Street Journal
bestseller We Should All Be Millionaires) is leading a 5-day writing retreat in beautiful Dorado, Puerto Rico. I’m teaching at this retreat.
Retreat includes:
- 5 days of masterclasses on how to write a powerful book that readers can’t put down, how to get a publishing deal, and how to make money as an author.
- Breakfast and lunch each day, opening reception, and farewell send-off.
- Quiet, distraction-free time to work on your
book in a spectacular setting with an ocean view.
- Networking opportunities to meet literary agents, editors, publicists, and fellow authors-in-the-making.
- Day pass to enjoy the amenities at the Ritz-Carlton in Dorado: private beach, pool, jacuzzi, walking trails, and more.
- 1-on-1 meeting with a literary agent to discuss your book idea and ask if they’d like to
represent you.
- Book proposal template, book marketing guide, and other materials to help you achieve your publishing goals.
- Sunny weather, tropical breezes, dazzling sunsets, and a breathtaking atmosphere.
- Additional support (online) after the retreat ends to keep the momentum going.
- For more details,
visit this webpage or watch this informational video.
Want to attend this retreat?
Need financial assistance to make it possible?
If so, apply for a
scholarship. Deadline to apply is 5 pm Eastern on Wednesday, February 21st.
Apply for a scholarship if:
- You can clear your schedule for these dates: March 2-7, 2024.
- You can book a last-minute
flight and get yourself to Puerto Rico.
- You can find your own overnight accommodation during the retreat. (There are several hotels and Airbnbs in the area. We can do our best to help you connect with other scholarship recipients if you’d like to share an affordable 3- or 4-bedroom Airbnb.)
- You're part of a historically excluded community, including but not limited to BIPOC, LGBTQIA, and people with
disabilities.
If you are selected for a scholarship:
- You can attend the retreat and pay 50% of the normal cost.
If this opportunity sends tingles of excitement down your spine… and your body lights up as you’re scrolling
through this email… I hope you’ll apply.
Yes, this retreat is coming up soon. Yes, it might feel wild, bold, and audacious to book a last-minute flight and make this trip happen.
One day you’ll tell this “how I applied for a scholarship at the last moment and got it” story
to your grandkids as you hand them an autographed copy of your book.
-Alex
