Each year contains 8,760 hours. How did those hours go for you, this past year?
Did you spend them wisely? Do you feel satisfied? Proud? At peace?
I feel… a lot of things about the past year.
It was a big one. Full of surprises,
challenges, and knee-buckling love.
In case you're curious -- and maybe a little voyeuristic? -- here is a visual & textual recap of my year. (Including my favorite books, albums, shows, and experiences of
2014.)
If you'd like a few more pieces to read, you might enjoy...
- Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible. (Inspired by the Dalai Lama, of course.)
- 5 questions for a bright, clear and focused new year. (Use these questions as journaling prompts, or use them to spark
conversations with friends, loved ones or intriguing strangers at your New Years Eve celebration!)
- 10 ways to write better emails (and just maybe, change the world). (Your next
email could change someone's day, week, or life. Your words are very powerful. You just never know...)
I don't have much more to say, today, except... thank you.
Whether you've been receiving my emails for a very long time, or not such a long time, thank you for being my
virtual pen-pal.
It's an honor to send these little missives to you, and I hope each one is helpful & encouraging.
If you enjoy these emails, please keep reading.
If you need more space in your inbox and life, please click the link down below to unsubscribe. (I won't be offended at all. Space is a
beautiful thing.)
Next year?
I'm planning on a simple, quiet year -- not much traveling, not much fanfare, not much of anything, really -- other than writing, teaching and spending time with people I love.
I've got a couple of neat things on the horizon, including
a small, cozy, intimate series of workshops at my loft in Portland... a collaboration with a t-shirt designer... new books & new articles, of course... and a free online course to celebrate Letter Writing Week: January 5 - 11, 2015. (Watch your inbox for details on that, very soon. Snail mail forever!)
Be well. Celebrate safely. Happy new year!
