How to set goals that you'll actually keep. [and 3 questions for you]

“Success isn’t measured by money or power or social rank. Success is measured by your discipline and inner peace.” —Mike Ditka

According to one clinical psychology study, just 8% of us successfully achieve the goals that we set at the beginning of each year.

8% success rate. 92% failure.

That’s pretty grim.

We can do better.

Here are my thoughts on how to create goals & commitments that you’ll actually keep — particularly when it comes to creative projects like blogging and writing.

My free workbooks — especially the workbook titled Commitment — might help, too.

Last but not least:

I have three questions for you!

(Well, not questions, exactly. More like fill-in-the-blank statements.)

If you're in the mood to share your thoughts, please hit REPLY to this email and go for it.

1. When it comes to writing, it would feel amazing if I could: ________________.

2. If there's one thing that consistently blocks me, distracts me, drains my energy, or makes it harder for me to write, it is: ________________.

3. I get really tired, grumpy or overwhelmed when I think about: ________________.

4. If I could sit down with you, Alex, and ask you anything, it would be: ________________.

Brevity is very sexy & always appreciated. :)

Your responses will help me to create new articles, advice columns, free workbooks & courses.

Thank you for sharing!

These tiny ducks swimming in a sink want to say "thank you," too. This puppy is immensely grateful as well. And these otters are completely in awe of your awesomeness.

Have a happy & productive day...

PS. How about a little music to groove to while you work, today? When it comes to country, it just doesn't get better than George Strait. Or if you want something more mellow & electronica-inspired, listen to this. Enjoy!
