Get into your angry place.

Published: Sat, 01/24/15

I just signed up for a personal training session at my new gym.

They asked: What are your fitness goals?

I wrote: Mental strength.

That's the truth. I'm already reasonably strong and flexible. I don't want to lose weight. Toned abs? Could be nice. Not really a priority.

What I really want... is a mind that I can rely on. A mind that I can have faith in.

What I really want... is to feel like when I set my mind to a goal, it is a DONE deal.

Like I am NOT going to let myself down.

Mental strength. Conviction. Commitment.

That's what I want.

"Mental strength" is a big theme in my writing, lately. (As you may have noticed). It's a big theme in new course: Unstoppable. It's a big theme in my latest book: Devotion. It's something I'm deeply curious about. Because...

If you can count on yourself  I mean: REALLY count on yourself to show up and deliver  then anything is possible.

That's my riff for today.

Here are a few recent pieces that I wrote for you. Read & enjoy...

- Get into your angry place.

- 14 questions to ask before writing a book.

- Today is not over yet.

And: a few "vintage" pieces from my archives that you might dig...

- Don't leave before the miracle happens.

- Fear choice vs. Love choice: which will you choose?

- Feeling drained by emails, blogs, newsletters — the whole Internet? Take back your power.

- Let it hurt. Then get to work.

- How to set goals & commitments that you’ll actually keep.

- From my advice column, Good Question: "How can I get through resistance and take action?"

- And... It's OK To Be Awesome.

Wishing you a happy day  or maybe, an angry day.

Either way: a focused, productive and satisfying day.

To your strength,

-Alex

PS. Little know fact: I love metal! This Christian metalcore band covered a song by Miley Cyrus and it's pretty incredible. Enjoy.
