When you die you won’t care about emails.

Hey you.

Have you spent a little too much time futzing around in your inbox today?

Eyeballs burning... heart yearning for something that feels a little more tangible, a little more meaningful... fingers twitching to MAKE something, to sculpt, paint, cook, chop wood, write a handwritten note, or tell someone how you really feel? (For the first or thousandth time?)

If so, I gently encourage you to close your laptop, power down the tablet, shut off the digital dopamine drip and go do something... else.

Ideally something involving sunlight, eye contact, and whatever feels most like "love" for you.

Later  if & when you feel like it  this email will be waiting for you. It contains quite a few things for you to read & think about.

Enjoy now. Or later. Or delete. Or unsubscribe.

No matter what: have a beautiful day. Go be majestically alive.

Several things to read:

A few recent posts & essays...

- 5 writing ideas for people who have “no time to write.” Art can happen in sixty seconds or less.

- The six types of motivation. Understanding my "type" has been life-altering.

- The power of “I am.” Say it. Become it.

Special projects & loveliness:

- My client Ellen interviewed my mom on her blog. Because my mom is flat-out amazing. (Here is my mom's advice on how to get through a tough day: "Chocolate. Cup of tea. Walking. Yoga. Swimming in the ocean. Laughing with my kids or friends. Sex. Cuddling. Hot tubs. Massage. Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal." PREACH, mama.)

- My client Suzanne recently released a series of audio meditations for people who want to kickstart a great day, people dealing with writer's block, people who want to get motivated to exercise, and more. So proud of her beautiful work! (And her South African accent is g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s).

- Another recent client of mine, Echo Stories, just released a powerful video about dads & kids. They prompted kids to ask their dads one question: "Dad, what about me makes you proud?" ... and recorded the responses. Warning: do not watch without a box of Kleenex handy. If you love someone and you're proud of them, do not wait. Tell them now.

"When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive  to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love." Marcus Aurelius

To aliveness,

PS. I love this Kygo remix of "Jolene" by Dolly Parton. Dreamy. Also, here is a new playlist I made... to inspire me while I'm finishing up my new novel. Enjoy.
