You are a grown up. Do what you want.

Hey hey...

For the past two weeks or so, I've been in "summer sabbatical" mode.

Sunbathing, pie-baking, book-reading, burger-grilling, writing fiction just for the sheer fun of it, and general silliness and merriment. Like meeting my boyfriend at a hotel and pretending we've never met before. And so on. Ahem.

This mid-year break has been so good for my body & soul.

I wish I could step through my screen, clear your calendar, and give you the gift of a prolonged summer playdate, too.

In lieu of teleportation (one day, let us pray!) here are a couple of recent pieces for you to enjoy...

- "I'm proud of you." Four simple words that mean so much. Tell someone. Make their day.

- You are a grown up. Do what you want. Just in case you forgot who's in charge, here. (I often do).

- 5 writing ideas for people who have “no time to write.” Because creating something beautiful doesn't have to take "forever."

News, updates & whatnot.

- My summer workshop, Make A Tiny Book, is now officially sold out. Both dates. Full to the brim. THANK YOU for your enthusiasm. I can't wait to work, write, play & eat bacon with you.

- Did you know that I have an online writing course called Unstoppable... ? Yep. I do.

It's self-directed, so you can sign up and start reading and listening to the lessons anytime you like. I tackle the top 10 scenarios that stop people from writing (no time, no inspiration, too many ideas, fear of criticism, fear of over-sharing, and so on) and do my best to dissolve each roadblock like a sugar cube in a hot cup of coffee.

If you haven't scoped it out, you can do that right here.

If you want to give the course to a friend as a special present, how fun! That's definitely do-able. Just pop me a note. Here's to melting resistance and making things happen.

- Also, whoa, very important: I'm thinking about growing out my bangs and dying my hair dark blue. Just so you know.

To summer frolicking, art-making, hair-changing, and just, you know... being alive.

-Alex

PS. I recently discovered a French vocalist named Madjo. I'm obsessed. This song is my can't-stop-looping track of the moment. Enjoy.
