"If you had 24 hours to live, what would you do with your time?"
Would you grab your kids, head to the beach, make sandcastles together, and hold
them close? Would you watch the sunset one more time? Play your favorite song over and over? Call your ex and say, "I forgive you"? Call your parents and say, "Thank you for all the love and care that you gave to me"? Eat the best chocolate cake in your city? Dance like a maniac? Look your partner in the eyes and kiss them like you mean it?
How would you spend your final day on
earth?
This is a question that I think about often. It's a question that makes me cry. It's also the question that inspired me to write a sci-fi novel called So This Is the End: A Love
Story.
This is a 24-chapter / 24-hour story about a futuristic world where it's possible to die, come back to life, and then have one extra day to do whatever you want. Just one more day. But that's it.
I self-published this novel a few years ago. Then I pitched it to several
literary agents and publishers. I eventually found a publisher who wanted to re-release the book. I re-wrote a few chapters, made a few final tweaks, and now... it's ready. It's being released in hardcover and Kindle format this October.
Thank you. I hope you love reading it.
Whether you buy this book or not, what I really hope is that you'll spend a little time considering the big questions about this brief and mysterious thing called... life.
If this was it, really it, the very end... is there anything about your life that you'd want to do differently? Is there someone you need to call?
Something you need to say? Something you long to experience? Do it now.
There's no day like today.
Love,
-Alex
