Hi. I'll be at Word Up Books in NYC doing an event tonight.
It starts at 6:30pm. It's free. My mom and dad will be there. We're bringing cookies.
Thursday April 25th 2019, 6:30-8pm
Word Up Community Bookshop/Librería Comunitaria
2113 Amsterdam Ave. @ 165th St. New York NY 10032
I have no idea how many people will show up. It might just be me, mom, and dad, which honestly sounds like a pretty wonderful night. But you're welcome to attend, too.
I will read an excerpt from my novel, So This Is the End: A Love Story.
I will ask my favorite question—If you had 24 hours to live, what would you do with your time?—and then we'll all contemplate and discuss this question. I'll share what I would do on my final day. You can share, too. Or not. No pressure.
This will be a very relaxed, calm, gentle evening. You can wear your sneakers. Or even your PJs. Messy hair? Totally cool. Feeling a little down? It's all good. Show up as you are. All humans: welcome.
Wherever you are in the world, please have a beautiful day.
-Alex
PS. If you're in NYC, or visiting soon, please go see the production of Fiddler on the Roof performed in Yiddish. It's incredibly moving.
PPS. This music playlist is so relaxing.
