Hey! I hope you've had a beautiful week.
This is a quick note to let you know that I'm doing 2 events in the NYC area.
They're both happening in April. This month. Coming up soon. Here's all the info...
THE TINY BOOK WORKSHOP
Saturday, April 27, 2019 (10 am-5 pm) in Brooklyn, New York
A tiny book is a very short book that's 30, 50, maybe 100 pages long. Beautiful and brief. A book that doesn't take forever and ever to write.
Would you like to write a tiny book? Maybe...a tiny book for your kids. A tiny book for your clients. A tiny book of healthy breakfast ideas. A tiny book about depression and self-care. If there's a tiny book inside of you, wanting to come out, then you'll love this workshop. Let's make some wonderful, powerful little books.
* Workshop location
* Workshop schedule
* Topics that will be covered
* What happens after the workshop
* Cancellation policy

Note: When you register before April 17, you get a special early bird dealio.
All writing experience levels (including, "I haven't really written anything since 10th grade in high school") are welcome at this workshop. See you there!

BOOKSTORE EVENT AT WORD UP
Thursday, April 25, 2019 (6:30 pm-7:30 pm) in New York City
If you had 24 hours to live, what would you do with your time? That’s the central question of So This Is the End: A Love Story, my latest novel. Readers call So This Is the End “a breath of fresh air,” “moving and beautiful,” and “an
amazing wake-up call.” (One reader also calls it "the worst book I've read this year," so, ya know, you can't please 'em all! Hahaaa.)
Come to Word Up Books (2113 Amsterdam Avenue, New York, NY 10032) for an interactive event where you’ll be invited to write down your own personal “final 24” list. Share your list aloud (no pressure, only if you want to) and listen to other people’s lists, too. Leave
feeling inspired to live a little differently. Bring a pen and notebook/journal if you can.
(No need to RSVP for this free event at Word Up. Just show up. Complimentary snacks will be provided.)
See you 'round...
-Alex
PS. If you need some fresh music in your life, lately I've been listening to Big Wild, Random Rab, Princess Nokia, Lecrae, and also some Avril Lavigne because it JUST FEELS SO RIGHT.
PPS. If you live in NYC, and you love musicals, myths, and big, epic themes (love, betrayal, doubt, forgiveness, transformation) go see Hadestown. You will be enthralled.
PPPS. I have a feeling you need to stand up, step away from your digital device(s), and get some fresh air right now. So maybe go do that. I'll do it, too. See you outside. <3
