Tomorrow, seven amazing humans are flying into the sweet, sleepy coastal town of Hilo on the Big Island of Hawaii for a seven day retreat.
I've been leading retreats in Hawaii for the last several years. These retreats are a combination of writing classes, yoga, fitness, meditation, healthy food, beach time, sunshine, stargazing, waterfalls, and free time to read, relax,
or work on a project.
The day before the retreat begins, there's always a hum of preparation and anticipation. I love wandering through the venue. Going through the final details with my team. Putting together the welcome gifts for guests' bedrooms. Tying gold ribbons. Arranging flowers. Choosing the music playlist for our first dinner together. All the sweet little moments of getting-ready-ness.
Today, as we were setting everything up, I decided to make a few behind-the-scenes videos to give you a peek into what these Hawaii retreats feel like. The venue, the vibe, the sky, the beach, and of course, the turtles. Nothing fancy. Just quick recordings I made on my phone.
Enjoy this virtual trip to Hawaii...

Please have an excellent week. Do good work. Answer some emails. Send out those invoices. More importantly...Look at the sky. Make banana bread. Listen to that song you're obsessed with and sing it out loud in your car with the windows rolled down. Hug your dad. Call your mom.
Life, unplugged.
The real stuff.
