This week, Kate took a surfing lesson...for the first time.
(After many days and many seasons, sitting on the shoreline, sipping coffee, watching the surfers glide and dip at the edge of the world, she decided to plunge in and join them.)
This month, Ellen took her brand new-and-improved post-surgery hip for a test drive, taking those first few tender, halting steps...for the first time.
This year, Alexa signed up for a songwriting class, and then unexpectedly poured out a poem and recorded herself reading it...for the first time.
Tonight, I'm going on a date, like a real proper date with a pretty dress and everything...for the first time. (In a very, very, very long time.)
And Molly is playing the piano...for the first time. (In 26 years.)
What will you do for the first time...today?
-Alex
PS. If you like, feel free to click "reply" and tell me what you did for the first time recently.
PPS. I'm working on a secret, cool project and it's all about...emails. My goal is to make "writing and answering emails" feel fun and magical again, instead of feeling like a tedious chore. I would love to know: if you could have some "tips" or a "template" or an "outline" for a particular type of email, what would it be? Click "reply" and tell me, please. For instance: "Hey Alex, I would
really love an email template for reaching out to a potential client and asking them to hire me." "I need tips on how to write an email to say 'no' to something I don't want to do." "I would love some tips on how to write a fundraising email - asking people to support my nonprofit." "I want an email template for apologizing and taking responsibility for a mistake I've made." Etc. Please share what type of email tip/ideas/template/etc. would feel super helpful for you. Thank
you.
PPPS. Some new yoga/fitness/workout playlists I made this week: one, two, three, four. And a really chill, calm playlist for stretching, exhaling, relaxing, or falling asleep.
PPPPS. Scrunch your shoulders way up to your ears...then exhale deeply and let them fall waaaay down. Roll them back a few times. Ahhh. Doesn't that feel so much better? I know, right?
PPPPPS. "Ohhhhhh, oh, oh, oh, for the longest time."
