You dream about writing a book. There’s just one little problem. Your life is very, very busy.
Between going to work, raising the kids, running your household, and trying to be a wonderful friend / sibling / spouse / partner / activist / everything else, there’s just not much time left.
So, is it possible to write a book…when you have almost zero free time?
Yes.
My colleague Lindsey and I are leading a free class later this week.
This class is called: How To Write a Book… When You Have Absolutely No Time To Write a Book
All the info you need (When is it happening? What time does it start? Where do I sign up so I can attend?) is right here: tinybookcourse.com/notime
During this free class, we’re covering:
- How to choose a book topic that fits the reality of your life. What kind of book could you realistically write in 3 hours? Or in 1 day? In 1 weekend?
- 5 types of books that don’t take forever to write—letter book, list book, question book, how-to book, journal—so you can experience the joy of writing a book without having to write tons of text.
- Why you might want to write a tiny book (30-70 pages) instead of a standard length book (200-300 pages).
- Why tiny books are really powerful. Big ideas in a small package. Just because it’s short, that doesn’t mean it’s “less awesome” or “dumbed down.” Tiny books are a big deal.
Also! During class, we're randomly selecting one person, and that person wins...a free spot in the next session of The Tiny Book Course! To make things totally randomized and fair, Zuki the dog will choose the winner's name...with his nose. Yes. This is happening. Really, it's worth coming along to class just to witness this incredible canine moment.
I hope this class brings some much-needed joy, encouragement, and inspiration into your week.
We'll see you there!

PPPS. I firmly believe that everyone can write a book. It's not a special skill reserved for only the chosen few. It's a rewarding creative project that anybody can do.
If you can write an email, write a blog post, write a social media post, write a letter to someone you love, write advice for your child, or write some comforting words to a friend, then you can write a book.
It's the same thing. A book is just a conversation between you...and someone you care about. You can do this.
PPPPS. I spent 5 years living in Oregon, prior to moving to Hawaii. My heart is breaking to see the coverage about the devastating fires. I admit that I feel somewhat powerless and overwhelmed, but I am focusing on small things I can do to help, like text my Oregonian friends, make sure they're okay, and donate what I can to relief efforts like these.
Small actions do make a difference. Sometimes, when life feels very bleak, the smallest gesture of kindness can make such a big difference in another person's life. A call. A hug. A sandwich or metaphorical sandwich. It all matters. It all helps.
