As the year draws to a close, here are some good questions to ask yourself, or perhaps discuss around the dinner table (virtual or real-tual), with people you love.
Questions
- You, one year ago. You, today. How have you changed in the last year?
- What was your favorite thing you created this year? A blog, podcast, book, or project? A home? A child?
- Fill in the blank: This year, I feel proud of myself because ___________.
- What is something you want to leave behind in 2020 and not carry into 2021?
- When is the last time you went an entire day without touching your phone or any other digital devices? Is your heart aching for less screen time?
- Can you remember a time in 2020 when you thought you couldn't do something ("This is too hard, I'm overwhelmed, I can't do this"), but then you surprised yourself and you did it?
- Can you remember a time in 2020 when you did the right thing even though nobody was watching?
- Can you remember a time in 2020 when you had the opportunity to do something courageous, but you got scared and backed away and didn't do it?
- What is something you really want, and what are you going to do about it?
- Is there someone you've been meaning to check in with for a while, but you keep forgetting to reach out? Who is it? What do you want to say?
- Is there something weighing on your heart and mind, or a person you need to forgive?
- What's a change you'd love to make in your life? (Example: Delete Facebook, quit a job, leave a relationship, start a new routine, adopt a puppy, etc.) What will you lose if you do this? What will you gain?
- If you knew that you had 24 hours to live, what would you do with your time?
